About The UnitThe Labor and Delivery Unit at Mount Carmel St. Ann's sees intrapartum pregnancy and postpartum pregnancy patients. The unit has 15 labor beds, 8 triage beds, 3 operating rooms, and 12 antepartum high‑risk beds.

The Registered Nurse (RN), within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide comprehensive patient care in a manner sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. The staff RN is accountable for patient care delivery using the Nursing Process and adhering to standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Mount Carmel Health System.
What You Will Do- Assess and evaluate care for an assigned patient group, using evidence‑based practice; assist the provider with patient assessment, examinations, and treatments; perform basic medical procedures under provider supervision, including setup of procedures.
- Administer medications under provider direction, following the organization’s standards, policies, and guidelines.
- Assist in emergency situations under provider direction.
- Educate patients and family members on procedures, diagnoses, and disease processes.
- Document accurately and comprehensively patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes per documentation standards and guidelines.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers when appropriate.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Ohio.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegating to and supervising other team members.
- Basic computer skills; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred.
