Licensed Practical Nurse

Administers nursing care within the scope of practice as set forth in state regulations under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed physician. Responsibilities include administering medications, applying sterile dressings, inserting catheters, and monitoring patients during procedures. Provides general nursing care and assistance with personal grooming, hygiene, and daily living activities. Observes, documents, and reports patient conditions, including medication reactions and treatment responses.

Maintains medication accountability records and prepares related reports. Provides assistance and training to lower-level direct care staff. Orders medication and medical supplies, cleans the medical area, and performs clerical tasks. Attends and participates in various meetings, including staff conferences and training programs. Knowledge of nursing procedures, pharmacology, first aid, CPR, and HIPAA regulations is required. Demonstrates skill in the use of medical equipment.
