Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Planning

  • Perform age-appropriate assessments and prioritize patient needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on nursing judgment

Treatment & Clinical Support

  • Administer medications, IVs, and treatments safely and accurately
  • Respond promptly to patient status changes and physician orders

Monitoring & Documentation

  • Monitor treatment response and document real-time updates in the EHR
  • Utilize telemetry and clinical tools to ensure quality and safety

Communication & Teamwork

  • Provide clear bedside shift reports and collaborate with the care team
  • Offer education to patients and families during care and discharge

Leadership & Compliance

  • Serve as a Charge Nurse or resource to staff as needed
  • Delegate appropriately based on licensure/scope
  • Maintain compliance with infection control, HIPAA, and medication safety protocols

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a Diploma, associate degree, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current RN license in the State of Ohio (required)
  • BLS certification required upon hire; ACLS certification and telemetry monitoring proficiency required within 6 months of hire
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret basic EKG rhythms

Preferred

  • BSN
  • Prior experience as charge nurse

Education
