The Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown offers 168 beds for nursing home care. Two levels of care are available: standard care for veterans in need of an intermediate level of care and memory care for veterans with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.
Job Title and DetailsRegistered Nurse (RN)
- Compensation: $34.96 per hour
- Union: 1199
- Provide professional nursing and/or emergency health care to residents, including assessing and evaluating resident needs; preparing and administering prescribed medications; performing daily rounds; observing, assessing and recording resident condition and progress; providing immediate medical attention to emergencies including first aid and CPR; responsible for clinical outcomes and quality measures related to clinical pathways; conducting resident assessments on admission, re‑admission, quarterly and as needed.
- Act as lead worker responsible for day‑to‑day operations of the assigned unit or shift; direct health care staff (RNs, LPNs, Hospital Aides); schedule, assign and review work; delegate based on resident needs and staff capabilities; evaluate staff performance; participate in staff development and education; orient new personnel.
- Perform related clerical and/or administrative tasks such as charting and recording all medications, maintaining inventory of controlled drugs, medication and equipment, compiling reports, supervising record maintenance, and arranging appointments with outside medical providers.
- Participate on committees, serve as member or leader of problem‑solving teams, attend staff and in‑service meetings.
Requires current licensure as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio issued by the Board of Nursing.
