Concessionaire / Gate Keeper / Paddle Rental – Seasonal (Non-Exempt)

Rate: $13.00

Pay Grade: SEA | Starting salary based on prior experience and education.

Location: Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park, Fairport Harbor, OH 44077

Position

Description:

Under the direction of the Outdoor Education Manager, this position assists the public in the concession area, paddle rental operations, and admissions gate.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare, serve, and sell food items to the public.
• Provide exceptional customer service and represent Lake Metroparks in a positive manner.
• Maintain clean, organized, and wellkept concession and rental areas.
• Assist with inventory, special events, and programs as needed.
• Support paddle rental operations, including moving kayaks and standup paddleboards and fitting life jackets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

• First Aid Certificate recommended; training provided as needed.
• Must be at least 15 years old.

Position Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of Lake County.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
  
  Ability to handle money accurately and responsibly.
• Dependability and reliability.
• Ability to interact with the public, coworkers, and managers with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
• Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work a variable schedule up to 40 hours per week.
• Availability for occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Valid driver's license and insurability under the Agency's liability policy.
• Successful completion of a preemployment background check.
