Seasonal Gardens Specialist - Part time​/Whitehouse Oh

Help us redefine what is possible and make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with Autism! Bittersweet, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides residential, vocational, and recreational services to individuals with autism.

Responsible for supporting the Gardens Program with weeding, planting, watering, harvesting, related crop and greenhouse care.

This is an entry level position beginning in March and ending in September.

Schedule:

Thursday 8a-4p, Friday 8a - 4p and Saturday 8a-12p. This schedule cannot be adjusted you must be able to commit to this schedule if you're interested in the position.

Pay: $15.00/hr

• Perform duties such as mixing soil, amending beds, cultivating, planting, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting farm crops on assigned green houses, hoop houses and fields as required
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining greenhouse and horticulture areas
• Harvest fruits and vegetables by hand

• Possess and uses empathy in all actions and interactions
• Effectively work in teams with co-workers and participants
• Ability to express patience in difficult situations
• Exceptional and adaptable oral communication
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to work in inclement weather
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and participate in physical tasks
• Must be flexible and be able to bend, crouch, kneel, reach up, lift, walk and stand for long periods of time
• Knowledge of horticulture and gardening practices preferred
