Part‑Time Park Maintenance Worker - Farmpark
Rate: $14.00 per hour. Pay Grade: PT.
Location:
Lake Metroparks Farmpark, Kirtland, OH. This part‑time position may work up to 28 hours per week and requires availability weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Under the direction of the Park Buildings & Grounds Manager, the Part‑Time Park Maintenance Worker performs routine building, grounds, custodial, and general maintenance duties throughout Lake Metroparks facilities, including operations at a working farm site. The employee contributes to the safe, clean, and welcoming condition of buildings, public areas, and grounds.
Responsibilities- Conduct custodial duties before and after daily park visitation, programs, rentals, and special events, including cleaning buildings and restrooms.
- Assist with snow and ice control, including plowing, shoveling, and applying ice control treatments.
- Perform mowing, landscaping, and seasonal grounds maintenance activities.
- Complete basic maintenance projects such as painting, repairs, and general upkeep.
- Assist with setup and teardown of park programs, rentals, and special events.
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and proper manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in landscaping, custodial work, or facility maintenance preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required and must be insurable under Agency policy.
- Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work an irregular schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Pre‑employment background check required.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and operate equipment safely.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to maintain positive and professional interactions with coworkers and the public.
