Position

Landscaper – Onsite

Valley City, Ohio. Monday–Friday, 6am–2:30pm (flexible within reason due to weather).

Work as part of the Grounds team performing irrigation, landscaping, and maintenance tasks on campus grounds.

• Maintain irrigation systems, procedures, and scheduling.
• Support the Landscape & Turf Lead (LTL) and installation crew.
• Coordinate projects with outside contractors and companies.
• Assist and lead basic landscaping tasks (mowing, string trimming, blowing, shoveling, etc.).
• Supervise a crew for grounds, landscape, and irrigation maintenance.
• Monitor subordinates and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
• Manage work sites for campus projects as directed.
• Maintain or repair tools, equipment, and structures (buildings, greenhouses, fences, benches) using hand or power tools.
• Perform snow and ice management and lead personnel to complete objectives.
• Spread materials, shovel, and operate powered walk equipment to keep areas clean and safe.
• Cultivate lawns, turf, or gardens and decorate gardens.
• Maintain equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning through direction and leadership.
• Perform a variety of tasks including string trimming, mowing, planting, watering, fertilizing, mulching, snow and ice removal, sprinkler installation, and irrigation.
• Lead multiple individuals to execute detailed tasks and achieve desired results.
• Handle installation, care, and maintenance of testing engineering test plots and main campus landscape management.

$38,600 – $62,215 per year.
