Fulton Animal Hospital is a full-service, small animal veterinary hospital serving Canal Fulton and neighboring communities since 1956. We provide care for cats, dogs, chickens, sheep, and goats, including preventative care, health certificates, surgery, dentistry, X‑ray, ultrasound, and laser therapy. Over the years our practice has grown into a multiple‑doctor team dedicated to modern medical treatments while maintaining a hometown feel.

Position Purpose

The Medicine You Want to Practice

Surgery & Dentistry

Each doctor has a dedicated surgery day with opportunities to expand skills in soft tissue, light ortho, and dentistry. We actively grow our dental program and welcome DVMs who want to help strengthen it.

Mixed‑Animal Expansion

We aim to grow a mixed‑animal service that includes dogs, cats, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, pigs, and more. If you enjoy variety and want to help shape a developing mixed‑animal program, this is a remarkable opportunity.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect samples, as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
