On-Call Associate Veterinarian

VCA Green Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and flexible On-Call Associate Veterinarian to provide coverage for scheduled time off, vacations, medical leave, and periods of increased patient demand. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys practicing high-quality medicine while maintaining a flexible schedule.

As part of our team, you will work alongside experienced veterinarians and a dedicated support staff to deliver exceptional patient care and an outstanding client experience. Our hospital values teamwork, communication, continuous learning and patient-centered medicine.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality preventive, medical, surgical, and dental care to companion animals.
  • Perform physical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Communicate medical findings and recommendations clearly and compassionately with clients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records using the hospital's electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, credentialed veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service representatives.
  • Follow VCA medical standards, protocols, and safety guidelines.
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and respectful hospital culture.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active veterinary license in the state of practice, or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
  • DEA license (or ability to obtain one if required).
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and client service skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and hospital needs.
  • Experience in small animal general practice preferred, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
