The Assistant Compliance & Accreditation Manager plays a vital role in maintaining and advancing the Division’s accreditation and compliance efforts, with a primary focus on CALEA Public Safety Communications Accreditation. This position is assigned to the Accreditation Manager and supports agency leadership by ensuring policies, documentation, audits, and internal processes reflect best practices, professional standards, and organizational values.
This is not a passive administrative position. It is a high‑trust, high‑impact role that requires initiative, persistence, analytical thinking, and the ability to follow complex projects through to completion with minimal supervision.

- Professional Credibility:

- Coordinate and support the Division’s CALEA communications accreditation program.
- Monitor accreditation timelines, standards, and deliverables to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and revising policies, general orders, and SOPs.
- Conduct internal reviews, mock assessments, audits, and inspections.
- Maintain organized, accurate accreditation files and proof documentation.
- Compile and analyze data, statistics, and reports for leadership and accreditation bodies.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and recommendations for executive staff.
- Train Division personnel on accreditation standards and compliance responsibilities.
- Assist with Ohio Collaborative, Power
DMS, and other compliance initiatives. - Support on‑site and remote accreditation assessments and agency preparation.
- Research best practices, emerging issues, and policy improvements.

Nature of WorkThe Assistant Compliance & Accreditation Manager is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the agency’s accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) under the Public Safety Communications Accreditation Program. This position will assist the Division in achieving compliance with CALEA standards for our communications center and will play a critical role in preparation, documentation, policy development, internal audits, and other responsibilities assigned that are necessary for a successful assessment and future reaccreditation cycles.
