Overview

To establish, monitor and update current operating practices by reviewing the effect and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

To investigate current production and quality problems, determine appropriate solutions and make recommendations for correction.
To verify quality practices and product reliability both internally and externally.
To conduct quality meetings with both operating and quality assurance personnel and initiate and monitor Statistical Process Control programs.
To assist operations and make recommendations which will increase production or reduce costs.
To make recommendations for new or developed technology which will improve quality and/or be cost effective.
To maintain appropriate records of programs and compose technical reports pertaining to quality investigations and activities.
To investigate causes of process failure and present findings to senior facility management.
Participate in the suspension and operation of the labs to maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 lab standard.
To establish, maintain, and monitor standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications

BS in Metallurgy or related field
Strong leadership ability
Strong problem‑solving ability
Initiative to work under minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years’ experience in the steel industry.
Knowledge of statistical quality control techniques.
Advanced understanding of tests performed on steel.
