Quality Engineer I – Materion, Elmore, Ohio
We are looking for a Quality Engineer I to join our Quality team. The role is responsible for driving strong quality systems and resolving customer issues to save money.
SalarySalary Range: $72,000 – $94,500* (guide; final offer based on individual merits)
Responsibilities- Identify and collaborate on customer issues, utilizing root cause analysis tools to identify possible causes and propose solutions.
- Support quality standards (ISO
9001, AS9100D, ISO
17025, etc.) through documentation, internal and external audits, calibration, and related activities. - Collaborate with peers to ensure consistent quality processes.
- Participate in teams and projects across the site(s) that drive improvement in efficiency, yield, and other key metrics.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or technical field (required);
Bachelor’s in Metallurgy preferred. - 3+ years of experience in a metals or materials production environment (preferred).
- General knowledge of systematic quality management systems (required).
- ETQ software experience (required).
- Ability to complete tasks on time (required).
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective communicator with customers and employees.
- Ability to train others.
- Solution oriented and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- English language proficiency.
- Preferred: ability to travel 10% or less.

Regularly required to sit; frequent use of hands for handling or touching objects, tools or controls; occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds. May be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch.
EnvironmentEmployee must wear appropriate PPE. Exposure to low concentrations of fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals is within regulatory limits. Noise levels are usually low. Travel may be required 25‑50% within the first 6 months.
Export Compliance EligibilityThe selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology under ITAR and EAR. Candidates must meet U.S. citizenship, national, lawful permanent resident, asylum seeker, refugee, or be approved for an export license. Offer is conditional upon ability to obtain license.
