Quality Engineer
Plastipak Packaging, Inc., a global leader in rigid plastic packaging and recycling, seeks a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations in Plymouth, MI. In this role, you will develop and maintain quality systems for PET and HDPE packaging, perform root cause analysis, drive corrective actions, and use data and SPC to reduce defects and improve process capability. You'll collaborate with production, engineering, and recycling teams to ensure safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction while supporting continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Monitor and improve product quality for plastic packaging manufacturing lines
- Develop, implement, and audit quality control plans, procedures, and documentation
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues
- Use statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis to reduce defects and variation
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance on process improvements
- Support customer quality requirements, specifications, and complaint resolution
- Lead or support internal and external quality audits and compliance activities
- Train operators and staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices
- Quality engineering
- Statistical process control (SPC)

- ISO 9001 or similar QMSData analysis and reporting
