Job description:PhD Student (f/m/d) – Formation and transport of foams in the terrestrial water cycle

With cutting-edge research in the fields of ENERGY, HEALTH and MATTER, around 1,500 employees from more than 70 nations at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) are committed to mastering the great challenges facing society today.

The Institute of Fluid Dynamics is conducting basic and applied research in the fields of thermo-fluid dynamics and magneto hydrodynamics in order to improve the sustainability, the energy efficiency and the safety of industrial processes.

The Department of Department Fluid Dynamics Resource Technology Processes is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) – Formation and transport of foams in the terrestrial water cycle. The position will be offered subject to approval of project funding.

# Collect water and foam samples from the Elbe catchment area to assess ecological status
# Measurement of foam properties in the presence of surface-active microorganisms
# Development of a transportable foam field-testing devices
# Publication of the results in scientific journals
# Participations at international conferences
# Strengthening research cooperation between Helmholtz centers
