Overview
Forschungszentrum Jülich (IBG-2) offers an exciting Master’s thesis at the interface of environmental technology, biology, and sustainable resource use. You will contribute to advancing established algae-based process water treatment technologies toward real-world application and market readiness, in collaboration with industry partners.
The technological foundation is already established, and collaborations with industrial and commercial partners are in place. The current goal is the systematic advancement toward market readiness and sustainable value creation.

Your role- You will further develop existing technologies with a focus on scalability and applicability, support TRL advancement, analyze application scenarios, and assess market potential and regulatory frameworks.
- You will also help design value creation strategies and contribute to implementation and market entry concepts, working closely with interdisciplinary scientific and industry teams.
- You are a student in environmental/process engineering, biology, or a related field, with knowledge of microalgae and strong analytical skills.
- You are interested in innovation and technology transfer, work independently, and communicate effectively.
- Very good English (B2+) and good German are required.
