Postdoctoral Researcher In Molecular Entomology

The Postdoctoral Researcher in Molecular Entomology will conduct independent and collaborative research on insect molecular biology, with a focus on areas such as vector biology, insect physiology, or pest management. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and performing laboratory experiments, analyzing data, preparing manuscripts for publication, and presenting findings at seminars and conferences. The researcher will also contribute to grant proposals, assist with mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and maintain laboratory equipment and protocols.

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Wilberforce, OH, within a multidisciplinary academic setting that encourages interaction with faculty and students across related fields.

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Entomology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, qPCR, cloning, sequencing, gene expression analysis).
• Background in insect physiology, vector biology, or pest management research, including experimental design and data interpretation.
• Proficiency in data analysis and relevant software tools (e.g., statistical packages, bioinformatics platforms, and basic programming or scripting skills).
• Strong scientific writing skills, with a record of peer-reviewed publications or manuscripts in preparation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multidisciplinary research team and to mentor students in the laboratory.
• Effective verbal communication skills for presenting research and engaging with academic and community audiences.
• Commitment to ethical research conduct, laboratory safety, and maintaining organized, reproducible experimental records.
• Prior experience with grant writing, project management, or outreach activities is beneficial.
