The Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to problem gambling prevention. For more than 40 years, we have worked to reduce gambling risk by creating and delivering innovative awareness and information programs in Ontario and around the world. We work with priority populations, including youth, young adults, ethnocultural populations, and the public, to educate people on the risks of gambling, how to mitigate those risks, and how to access support.

We work with industry, regulators and government to promote the adoption of improved play safeguards through best practices research, knowledge mobilization, standards development, and the RG Check accreditation program.

The Evaluation Specialist plays a key role in supporting and contributing to research and evaluation that informs RGC’s prevention and outreach programming and other related evaluation activities s position reports to the Associate Director, Evaluation. This role is a contract position ending March 31, 2027.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize evaluation tools and methods (e.g., logic models, theories, etc.) to describe program activities and associated outcomes for process and outcome evaluations
• Develop and implement data collection procedures and measurement tools to support evaluation, research, and evidence-based program implementation
• Support in administering evaluation methods, including preparation, facilitation and liaising with relevant parties as appropriate
• Conduct both quantitative and qualitative research methods (i.e., plan, collect, analyze, synthesize) from a variety of sources
• Use a variety of data collection tools including questionnaires, focus groups, interviews, etc.
• Synthesize large volumes of information
• Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans
• Communicate findings both verbally and in writing
• Support preparation of research ethics applications and amendments as required
• Integrate findings to inform targeted harm prevention programming
• Work collaboratively with team members as well as staff across the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a graduate degree in a relevant applied field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 2 years directly related experience in evaluation, measurement, and applied research
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an office environment
• Applied knowledge of evaluation and research processes, including methodological and conceptual rigor, statistical techniques (e.g., research design and data analyses), and effective knowledge dissemination
