Food Service Worker
Perform cooking, preparation, presentation, cashiering and food service duties. Performs general cleaning and sanitation activities. Duties must be performed in a manner that ensures high quality standards of operation and compliance with the requirements of the District, the National School Breakfast and Lunch programs and other applicable accrediting agencies. Ability to professionally interact with students, staff and community members.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Basic knowledge of food handling, preparation, safety, sanitation and kitchen equipment. Good communication skills including the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, recipes, production sheets, temperature logs, safety rules, MSDS sheets and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations to customers and other employees.
Performs cashiering duties including cash transactions, verifying cash drawer, accurately giving change, counting cash receipts and filling out cash/deposit reports. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions. Ability to compute pan yields and recipe adjustments for count changes. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Food Handler's Permit/Food Service Certification required. Assist with supervision of student workers, ensuring that proper safety and sanitation standards are maintained. Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the Food Service Director immediately. Other duties as assigned.
Pay and Benefits:
As negotiated between Lake Local and OAPSE #335. Step 0 pay is $16.42 per hour plus medical and other benefits depending on hours worked.
