• Engage with team members in span of care to ensure appropriate onboarding, training, development, coaching and feedback.
• Identify talent and engage in career discussions to support overall store staffing and maintain a diversified talent pipeline for team member and leadership roles.
• Engage in candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and support growth opportunities.
• Accountability for area operations and financial results, overseeing execution of corporate plans to manage services and products, maximize sales and productivity, and own budget line items in the P&L.
• Drive safety and compliance throughout the store, managing overall condition and ensuring adherence to all compliance procedures.
• Ensure Team Leaders and Leads provide guidance, assign daily work assignments and address training needs.
• Identify and implement process improvements and serve as a steward of the Meijer culture.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned or required.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion for providing industry-leading service.
• Strong communication skills, providing clear and precise direction to team members.
• Analytical ability to examine financial and statistical information and use data to inform decisions.
• Ability to lead an organization that prioritizes safety.
• Proactive and creative thinking applied to business operations.
• Comprehensive understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising to meet customer needs and drive sales.
• Strong business acumen and innovative attitude.
