Deli Specialist

Job Summary

Slices, packages, and weighs various deli products including meats and cheeses, maintains presentation and cleanliness of the deli, and provides assistance to members in the deli department.

Supports club policies and procedures, ensures a safe environment, embraces inclusion and diversity, and works as a team.

• Provide a high level of customer service to members.
• Answer questions and recommend deli items.
• Answer member calls and take special orders.
• Slices, packages, and weighs deli products, including cheeses and meats.
• Help members select the correct products.
• Sample product to assist in purchasing decisions.
• Prepare and package special orders and party trays.
• Receive and inspect deli shipments.
• Display, stock, rotate, and store deli products following food safety and freshness policies.
• Ensure all products are fresh and meet quality standards.
• Check for out‑of‑date products daily and follow salvage policies.
• Maintain deli cooler shelves and display cases with a variety of products.
• Operate and handle deli equipment safely; clean and sanitize throughout the department.
• Ensure scale systems are working; make sure items are weighed and priced accurately.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Work experience in a deli department preferred.
• Prior experience operating manual or power slicers and scales preferred.
• Knowledge of deli products preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Most of the time is spent moving around frequently on hard surfaces; occasional bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping; frequently lifting up to 30 pounds, and may require lifting heavier objects with assistance. Work is in a comfortable indoor environment with exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers, and frequent exposure to cleaning agents. The role also requires regular, predictable, full attendance.
