Deli and Bakery Clerk - Part Time

At Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, we are looking for a Deli/Bakery Clerk to maintain stocked, clean, and safe deli and bakery cases while providing excellent customer service. The role ensures accurate product handling, pricing, and inventory management.

• Ensure cleanliness of deli/bakery cases, storage, and work area; sweep floors, remove spills, and keep products free from hazards.
• Stock and present products according to schematics, facing items, filling shelves, and ensuring accurate tags & pricing.
• Examine product rotation, discard expired or spoiled items.
• Assist customers in inquiries, provide product information, and cross‑sell items.
• Receive, inspect, and log shipments for accuracy, temperature, and quality.
• Monitor point‑of‑sale signage, recipe cards, coupons, and promotional materials.
• Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Prepare deli/bakery items using appropriate ingredients and cooking times.
• Use scale and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Participate in pre‑inventory, including back‑stocking and verifying tags.
• Maintain product knowledge, ensuring accurate presentation and preparation.
• Walk the department to ensure a clean, organized, and sanitary appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Preferred 1–2 years experience in a grocery retail food service department.
• Experience in the natural foods industry is a plus.

• Ability to cut and weigh meats, salads, cheeses.

• Sit, stand, walk, drive, bend, climb, crawl, crouch, kneel, reach, twist, lift/carry up to 50lbs.
• Perform repetitive motions, grasp, fine manipulation, push, pull regularly.
• Work in various environmental conditions, including temperature extremes and ventilation.
