Data Scientist, Research Scientist

We are seeking a talented analyst for our Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) team in Dayton, OH to support a variety of missions. The analyst will enhance analytical efforts centered around the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) M&S framework, tackling complex decision‑making challenges using scientific methods such as mathematical modeling and statistics.
The work will directly impact the effectiveness of military operations through deep analysis, simulation and optimization, and will involve close collaboration with government stakeholders and Radiance teams across the country.
- Compose an analysis plan, detailing what will be analyzed and the methods to be used.
- Build a wide range of models within scenarios and perform verification on these models and scenarios.
- Develop and execute designs of experiment (DOE), analyze experiment output, and generate presentations and reports.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
- Minimum of a SECRET collateral security clearance.
- Minimum of 8 years of analytical experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience using Python.
- Experience with analytical techniques such as descriptive statistics, correlation, analysis of variance, and optimization.
- Experience in development and execution of DOE‑based analysis plans.
- Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Experience with uncertainty quantification, sensitivity analysis and meta‑model development.
- Experience with simulation frameworks, especially discrete event simulations.
- Experience with statistical software such as JMP and MATLAB.
- Experience with DOE software such as Dakota, PIANO, and HAL.
- Experience with MS&A tools such as AFSIM, NGTS, and ITASE.
- Familiarity with DoD security practices.
