Position OverviewUnder limited supervision, responsible for managing and overseeing the security program of the prime contractor in compliance with DOE regulations, requirements and company policies. The Project Security Manager serves as the primary point of contact for security matters involving classified information, personnel clearances, facility access and safeguarding requirements. This role ensures the protection of government assets, sensitive information and secure operations while maintaining compliance with DOE Orders and applicable federal regulations.
The specific work assignment may include duties or activities of support in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Function as the Facility Security Officer (FSO)
- Administer and manage the security program in accordance with DOE regulations, Orders and other applicable directives
- Develops, maintains, and serves as the primary liaison with the DOE local office, DOE headquarters, local, state, federal agencies and all other on-site contractors
- Provides authorization of personnel security clearances
- Coordinate with DOE security representatives, federal agencies, ISS contractor, other security representatives of other site contractors, and internal leadership on all security related matters
- Maintain accurate security records, reports, and documentation required by DOE and company standards
- Provides guidance to management and employees regarding security requirements and best practices
- Conducts management and risk assessments to identify potential deficiencies or non-compliances
- Contribute as a key member of site OPSEC and Insider Threat Working Groups
- Execute duties relating to physical security, key control, access controls, information security, personnel security, insider threat awareness, and OPSEC in accordance with DOE program requirements
- Ensure proper handling, storage, transmission and destruction of classified and sensitive information
- Monitor compliance with cybersecurity and physical security requirements in coordination with IT and ISS contractor
- Serves as a liaison with local emergency response organizations
- Stops/Pause work of unsafe conditions potentially affecting personnel safety or security risk
- Maintain compliance with classified matter protection and control requirements
- Conduct security briefings and debriefings
- Develop correspondences and reports as required
- Other job-related duties as assigned
- Perform duties complex in nature
- Must acquire or have certifications pertaining to Facility Security Officer and other requirements per DOE directives
- Actively participates in Safety Work Groups
Work in an office at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or industrial field environments). May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes. Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards, dangerous chemicals/solvents or hazards, legacy facility condition hazards, electrical hazards, environmental hazards, industrial hazards, and radioactive materials if proper safety procedures are not followed.
Ability to wear respirator and other protective equipment to enter various types of potentially hazardous areas (such as but not limited to chemical, dust fumes, mists, heat stress factors, etc.).
Potential prolonged walking/standing, repeated pushing/pulling. Ability to perform sedentary to light work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (any exertion of force/lifting greater than 45 pounds requires usage of a two person “buddy system”), non-repetitive, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly, repetitive; performing such activities as lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, grasping, kneeling, stooping,reaching, climbing stairs, operating a motor vehicle, and noise from operating equipment.
