Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and their servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

• Managing physical security operations, developing post orders, defining security procedures, handling site incidents, working with security equipment, participating in construction projects, driving day‑to‑day process improvement activities and managing vendors.
• Ensuring consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures and participating in recurring site audits, reviews and testing new security technologies.

A day typically begins with a comprehensive review of any security incidents or operational issues that occurred. The specialist conducts thorough security system checks, including testing access control systems, verifying camera operations, and reviewing alarm panel statuses. Throughout the day, they attend operations meetings with the DC Operations team, review vendor access requests, and address emerging security concerns. They conduct facility walkthroughs, inspect perimeter security, check equipment condition, and document vulnerabilities.

They manage security tickets, process badge access requests, coordinate vendor escorts, handle system maintenance requests, oversee security guard operations, verify SLA compliance, and conduct post inspections. They participate in team meetings to review metrics, discuss process improvements, coordinate upcoming projects and perform administrative duties such as updating procedures, completing reports, reviewing footage and documenting incidents.

• 2+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors.
• Experience managing contract security and physical security operation programs such as access control, intrusion detection and CCTV surveillance systems.
• Experience in security or risk‑related fields.
• 6+ months of experience in security roles, preferably in a data centre or similar environment.

• 2+ years of law enforcement, or 8+ years of security‑related professional experience.
• 1+ year of team leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of law enforcement or security‑related experience.

Base salary range: $28.00 – $50.00 USD hourly.
