Physical Security Specialist - Data Center Security Operations (m/d/f)
Responsible for supporting and executing daily physical security operations at assigned data centers, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Manage routine site inspections, audits, and security system checks to maintain operational readiness and conduct risk assessments as required.
Responsibilities- Coordinate activities of contracted security personnel, including scheduling, compliance, and performance monitoring.
- Support projects related to installation, maintenance, and status of electronic security systems and report technical issues to vendors or IT teams.
- Assist with physical security incidents on site, including reporting, escalation, and coordination with law enforcement or emergency responders.
- Maintain professionalism to represent the organization internally and externally and act as a trusted advisor and ambassador for SAP and affiliated companies.
- Conduct routine security audits and maintain documentation of inspections and assessments.
- Provide support for projects, including installation, maintenance, and status reporting of electronic security systems.
- Prepare reports and assist in decision‑making regarding security operations.
- Manage detailed programs related to the efficiency of the organization’s financial, operational, and overall compliance.
- Highlight ways to improve effectiveness of organizational processes.
- Understand industry trends and apply to processes.
- Execute day‑to‑day delivery of multiple projects across the organization.
- Manage relationships with senior management, service providers, and business partners.
- Mentor programs/assess risk mitigation solutions.
- Drive operational excellence and quality assurance by providing best practices, problem solving, and guidance.
- Occasional travel; serve as liaison to executive management and provide reports, champion internal goals, and manage KPIs.
- Experience in physical security, military, law enforcement, or corporate physical security.
- Direct experience in majority of described responsibilities and competencies.
- Degree in a related field is desirable; ability to pass background verification and obtain government security clearance.
- Fluent German speaking and comprehensive English language written and spoken proficiency.
