Police Officer 2 – Third Shift Responsibilities

• Protect lives & secure buildings & property:
  At the Warrensville Developmental Center, enforces rules & laws, patrols grounds on foot or in car to ensure safety of residents, staff, buildings and property. Performs security checks within buildings, assists with locating and searching for AWOL residents, responds to incidents with staff, processes employee workplace injury incidents, conducts emergency drills, assists with training, serves as liaison with other law enforcement and makes emergency calls.
• Perform safety checks on campus:
  Check extinguishers, elevators, water temperature, refrigerator/freezer temperature, power strips, perform routine maintenance, assist grounds office, complete environmental checklists, transport residents for security reasons, track documentation, assist in employee termination processes, escort staff off grounds for security.
• Answer phone inquiries, assist local law enforcement, conduct emergency evacuations, record and track calls/requests, type reports, and perform other duties as assigned.

• Possession of certificate successfully completing an approved basic peace officer training program or completion of 20 years active duty as a peace officer per Section 109.78(D) of Ohio Revised Code.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to successfully perform Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Program (OPOTC) fitness testing entry standards for new recruits.
