About the Role

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for heavy equipment? Join Ohio CAT as a Shop Service Technician and become a vital part of a team that keeps Ohio’s construction and power equipment running strong. You’ll work independently from a fully equipped service truck, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of equipment in the shop.

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm with overtime availability, Monday - Friday

What You’ll Do
  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, aerial lifts, and allied machinery
  • Troubleshoot drive-train, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and manufacturer updates
  • Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with customers and team members
What We’re Looking For
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent (required); technical training or college coursework (preferred)
  • Experience:

    Prior experience in construction or power equipment service and repair
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical service skills
  • Proficiency in DC electrical systems and machine electronics
  • Ability to read and apply technical manuals and service bulletins
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and able to work independently
  • Excellent communication and computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50 lb. pulling. Standing, sitting, and climbing up and down stairs, as well as standing, sitting, and climbing into machines. Dexterity Normal. Repetitive Motions:
Frequent movements requiring the use of hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
