The Maintenance Mechanic–Electrical Technician will install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.

• High school diploma and Vocational diploma; or High School diploma and apprentice experience.

  Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC . *
• Three years commercial electrical experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with a driving record in good standing.

• Electrical license
• Five (5) years of commercial electrical experience

• Install wiring and conduit systems for newly installed machines and equipment.
• Replace bulbs and ballasts.
• Pull telephone and computer wires.
• Check and maintain all types of light fixtures and outlets.
• Inventory and maintain stock of electrical items.
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken parts, wiring or cables.
• Assist other trades as necessary.
• Operate different types of lifts to perform electrical work.
• Operate a forklift, with training.
• Subject to be on call for emergencies.
• Assist with snow removal.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standard and non‑standard situations.

• The employee will need to regularly operate and use computers, phones and other electronic equipment.
• The employee will frequently communicate and must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
• The employee may need to move around their office and/or campus to attend meetings/ classes and to access files, machinery or other job‑related tools.
• The employee may need to lift and/or move equipment, tools or paperwork up 75 pounds.
• The employee may need to position themselves by reaching, stooping, kneeling or crouching in order to adjust or collect equipment and/or supplies.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Encounters low to moderate noise levels in the work environment.
