About this opportunity
Cenovus Toledo Refinery is now looking to hire multiple Electricians that will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical systems and equipment such as motors, switch gear, transformers, wiring and alarm systems. An understanding of the risk and confidence to work on high voltage (35KV) situations is a must for this position. This position will be performed in an outdoor process facility under the direction of the Maintenance Department.
The Electrician is also responsible for callouts for electrical systems and must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Calibrate, test, troubleshoot and install low and medium voltage (up to 15,000 volts) electrical and control equipment; as well as performing other preventative/predicative maintenance and inspections on equipment
- Read and interpret Schematic Drawings, Wiring and Interconnect Diagrams, One-Line and Three Line Diagrams, Loop Drawings, Logic Diagrams and Symbols
- Calculating mathematical problems required to successfully complete assigned tasks
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems 120 volts through 15,000 volts including motors, transformers, circuit breakers, controls, etc.
- Perform switching on 138,000 volt systems
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid driver's license required
- Journeyman Electrician Card, or 5+ years industrial Electrician experience, or an Associate's degree in a related field with 3+ years of industrial Electrician experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 1+ years of industrial Electrician experience required
- Must demonstrate knowledge in the following areas: OHM'S Law, electrical calculations, operation of electromechanical and solid-state devices, ladder logic schematics, single line diagrams, PLC's, use of VOM/DVOM, Ammeter, Megger, Hypot, cable/motor testing equipment
- Ability to effectively read electrical drawings and schematics
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts, and temporary off-shifts that may include weekends, holidays and overtime
- Ability to work at heights
- Perform physically active job tasks, involving year-round outdoor work in all types of weather
