Federal Facility Electrician - Mission-Critical Systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components.
• Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure system reliability and safety.
• Diagnose electrical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support system upgrades, modifications, and new installations.
• Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, and site-specific requirements.
• Utilize electrical testing equipment and tools to verify system performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, inspections, and repairs.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and facility teams.
• Adhere to all safety, security, and operational procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship, technical training, or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in a secure federal facility.

• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and installation practices.
• Works under supervision.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Works independently on standard assignments.

• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
• Experience supporting complex or mission‑critical systems.
• May lead tasks, mentor junior staff, and provide technical guidance.

• Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• Experience supporting NASA, DoD, or other federal facilities.
• Experience in industrial, commercial, or research environments.
• OSHA certification or equivalent safety training.
• Active security clearance (if applicable).
