Job Summary
Panelmatic Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for providing on‑site support, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and assisting with installations of electrical systems and equipment.
Job Duties- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems according to company procedures
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical panels and equipment
- Provide direction to on‑site contractors hired by Panelmatic where applicable
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components
- Make appropriate, budget‑conscious travel arrangements for Field Service trips where required
- Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) where required
- Document service activities, including maintenance reports and service records
- Train customers in basic equipment operation and maintenance where applicable
- Collaborate with the service team to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects
- Perform electrical and mechanical manufacturing tasks, in‑process inspections, and quality‑control checks in Panelmatic manufacturing locations when not assigned to a field project
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five or more years of experience in a manufacturing or field service role, with a focus on electrical equipment manufacturing preferred
- Experience reading electrical schematics and drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assemble and install fabricated equipment
- Ability to use a multimeter and hand and power tools
- Ability to run conduit and pull wires
- Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of senior technicians
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities
- Location in the Houston, TX or Youngstown/Brookfield, OH area
- Ability to pass a physical, drug, driving, and background check
- Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs or more
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four or more hours at a time
- Ability to stoop and bend for four or more hours
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and at heights
- Ability to work on call 24/7, holidays, and weekends for out‑of‑state travel
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and machinery (e.g., forklift, manlift)
