South Central Power Company, has an immediate opening for a Utility Technician at our Barnesville, Ohio location.

Applicants must be comfortable working with computers and other technical equipment. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, with the ability to deal with employees, members and the general public in a courteous and proper manner.

The Utility Technician position performs functions related to single phase and three phase metering such as reading, installing, programming, disconnects, reconnects, collections and performing testing and diagnostics on equipment and meters. Performs troubleshooting, restoration, and maintenance on 600volt services and equipment. The Utility Technician will perform technical work related to Scada, AMI and electronic field equipment as well as installation of Generlink generators.

This position will at times act as a flagger, truck driver and serve as a back up to the Warehouse Worker.

The successful candidate will be required to maintain a valid class B Driver's License and have the ability to withstand adverse weather and environmental conditions. A high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one year's experience in a related field is required. Must be qualified to perform energized work up to 600 volts.
