Maintenance Technician

Assist in the installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment for all aspects of foundry operation, in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and preventive maintenance guidelines and work orders established by the company. Perform facility's maintenance repairs and upgrades as directed. Complete assigned work orders. Routinely document all completed maintenance assignments on proper forms.

· Must possess a minimal set of tools for machinery and facility maintenance.

· Must have knowledge of the proper use and care of basic hand tools.

· Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license.

· Must be responsible for proper care and use of company provided shop specialty tools and equipment.

· Must comply with OSHA regulations concerning personal protective equipment which include general maintenance safety practices for eye, ear, hand protection, and proper lifting. Adherence to these regulations is mandatory.

· Must provide and wear safety-toed work boots at all times while performing maintenance tasks.

· Complete assigned maintenance work orders to satisfy departmental requirements for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually scheduled inspections and service of all company equipment.

· Perform routine and seasonal facility maintenance duties as required.

· Assist in troubleshooting and repair of facilities and equipment.

· Gain knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, heating, air conditioning fundamentals through on the job training, a personally funded technical school, and seminars selected and provided by the company at the company's discretion.

· Develop skills needed to fabricate as required using torch, mig and stick welding.

· Successfully complete company training for Lockout / tag out procedures. Annual training is provided and policy is strictly enforced.

· Must pass the company forklift safe operator's training course and remain as an authorized forklift operator.

· Comply with company safety policies and procedures.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Documented progress toward an Associate's degree (A.

A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Literate in Windows and internet searches for machine parts sourcing and vendor information would be helpful but not required.

· The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to document work performed on designated company forms.

· The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

· The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
