Equipment Operator 2 – Mohican‑Memorial State Forest, Ashland County, Ohio

• Operate heavy motorized equipment to complete a variety of construction and maintenance functions.
• Perform wildfire support, including fire line construction, trail, culvert, road, and bridge work.
• Conduct general maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities.
• Assist with wildfire suppression activities.
• Start hourly pay at $22.29 per hour with progressive increases over the first 3.5 years, ending at $24.63 per hour.

• Class A Commercial Driver’s License with no restrictions.
• Minimum 9 months of training or experience operating heavy‑motorized equipment such as a 7‑ton dozer, 8‑10‑ton roller, concrete mixer, excavator, low‑boy, 10‑ton sweeper, 10‑ton tractor, or a 25,000‑to‑35,000‑pound dump truck.”
• Solid arithmetic skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages, and good written, spoken, and reading comprehension in common English vocabulary.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and to handle dust, mud, dirt, fumes, noise, and the use of dangerous machinery.

Must complete the Basic Firefighter Introduction to Fire Behavior Course (S‑130/S‑190) within the first year of employment.
