Location:

Southern Ohio Correctional Facility, 1724 State Route 728, Lucasville, OH 45648

• Plan, conduct, implement, and monitor general recreation, personal development, structured therapeutic, and entertainment activities for inmates (e.g., softball, basketball, volleyball, ping‑pong, arts and crafts, woodworking, swimming, exercise).
• Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team to analyze, assess, evaluate, and define group and/or individual treatment goals and activities.
• Observe participants during activities and serve in an instructional capacity.
• Prepare and maintain work‑related documentation, including reports for the treatment team, activity implementation records, statistical records for program evaluation, supply and equipment requisitions, production records, inventory records, and weekly activity schedules.
• Perform security functions as required (e.g., man‑down, shakedown, inmate movement).
• Participate in meetings, conferences, and training sessions; maintain clean, safe, and functional work areas.
• Manage storage, issuance, and maintenance of supplies; pick up and deliver production goods.
• Perform job and fixture set‑up.
• Relieve supervisor in their absence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 30 months experience with coaching, personal training, or fitness instruction, or 30 months experience providing work direction and training to incarcerated persons.
• Or associate degree in recreation with at least 12 months experience in activity therapy or recreation.
• Or undergraduate core program in recreation with at least 6 months experience in activity therapy or recreation.
• Or 6 months experience as a General Activities Therapist 1 (Position 44211).
• Or equivalency to the minimum class qualifications listed above.
