This posting is for a Shift Coordinator at TPC Wellness in Mt. Orab, Ohio. It is a step above the Recovery Support Specialist role, with added leadership and coordination responsibilities.
Position SummaryThe Shift Coordinator serves as the operational leader on shift, supervising Recovery Support Specialists, ensuring policy compliance, maintaining documentation, and supporting residents throughout their recovery process. This role combines direct client support with staff leadership and administrative oversight.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision- Act as the primary contact for Recovery Support Specialists during shifts.
- Assign and communicate shift tasks and expectations.
- Train, coach, and support new staff members.
- Participate in staff and resident disciplinary investigations.
- Lead pre-shift and post-shift debriefings.
- Manage and review:
- Shift reports
- Incident reports
- Urinalysis (UA) logs
- Weekly call logs
- Monthly reports
- Monitor the Behavioral Management System and provide weekly updates.
- Ensure accurate documentation of activities and incidents.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, orientations, and transportation.
- Build professional relationships with residents.
- Support a structured and recovery-focused environment.
- Coordinate with other departments to meet resident needs.
- Conduct facility, room, and locker searches.
- Oversee resident counts and facility security.
- Observe medication administration and maintain records.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures.
- Maintain facility cleanliness and operational readiness.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Active CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) certification, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire (company assistance provided).
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules.
- Residential treatment experience.
- Behavioral health experience.
- Substance use recovery services experience.
- Social services or human services experience.
- Leadership and team coordination.
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation.
- Conflict resolution.
- Trauma-informed care practices.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Organization and attention to detail.
- Professionalism under pressure.
- CPR and First Aid certifications (preferred).
- Supervising and guiding Recovery Support staff.
- Managing operational reports and compliance tracking.
- Training new team members.
- Participating in investigations and corrective actions.
- Greater responsibility for overall shift operations.
- Increased leadership and accountability.
- Experience in recovery services, residential treatment, corrections, behavioral health, or social services.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- The ability to stay calm and make decisions during emergencies or crises.
- A genuine interest in helping individuals succeed in recovery.
