Senior Frontend Developer

We’re Looking for a Certain Kind of Frontend Mind

We’re not looking for someone who just builds screens. We need a Senior Frontend Engineer who understands that the frontend is the product. Every component, state decision, and styling choice directly shapes usability, performance, and product credibility. This role is about ownership, judgment, and craft — not just React proficiency.

Who You Are

• You think in user flows and systems, not isolated components. You understand how frontend architecture, state management, and API contracts affect scalability and developer velocity.
• You care deeply about quality. You design clean, maintainable UI architectures and don’t accept brittle implementations or quick hacks that won’t scale.
• You’re pragmatic and outcome-driven. You know when to invest in abstraction and when simplicity wins. Shipping matters — but never at the cost of long-term stability.
• You have strong engineering judgment. You can clearly explain why you chose a specific approach, not just how you implemented it.
• You take ownership. If something breaks in the UI, performance degrades, or users struggle, you feel responsible and fix it.

Requirements / Skills

Must-have

• Strong experience as a Senior Frontend Engineer building modern web applications
• Deep expertise in React and Type Script
• Hands-on experience with Vite as a build tool
• Solid understanding of state management, especially Zustand
• Strong UI implementation skills using Tailwind CSS
• Ability to work closely with design using Figma
  , translating design intent into precise, high-quality UIs

Nice-to-have

• Experience experimenting with or integrating LLM-powered UI generation tools (e.g. Bolt, v0, Gemini Canvas or similar)
• Interest in how AI-assisted workflows can accelerate frontend development without sacrificing quality
• Excellent English communication skills; the team operates fully in English

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and own major parts of the frontend for our core web platform
• Define and evolve frontend architecture with a strong focus on performance, maintainability, and developer experience
• Work closely with backend engineers, product, and design to shape end-to-end user journeys
• Translate complex product requirements into intuitive, elegant user interfaces
• Set quality standards for frontend code and act as a technical role model within the team

Where You’ll Work

You’ll join a small, cross-functional team of nine. We operate with high trust and autonomy: when you own something, you own it end-to-end — from concept to production. The team consists of six developers (two backend-heavy), a designer, a QA, and a Product Owner. While most of us are based in Hamburg, we collaborate across the USA and the Middle East, working asynchronously with a strong emphasis on clarity and ownership.
