Back End Developer

These roles are open for full-time, permanent employment and are intended to strengthen the back-end engineering capability across the team at both junior and senior levels.

We need someone who doesn’t just write backend code, but understands that code lives in a larger ecosystem. Our product is a web application platform, and every decision you make will ripple across the entire system. We’re not interested in a checklist of technologies. We’re looking for exceptional engineering judgment.

• You have depth. Your experience goes beyond frameworks into the underlying principles of software development. You can explain why something works, not just how.

Requirements / Skills

• You have a strong background as a Software Engineer or Backend Developer with deep experience in Python and modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Starlette, Pydantic, or Falcon.
• You are proficient in containerization and cloud-native tooling, including Docker, and optionally Kubernetes or AWS for deploying and operating services.
• You bring solid expertise in working with relational data stores through SQL Alchemy and Postgres, enabling robust, efficient data modeling and persistence in production systems.
• You have excellent English communication skills; the team operates fully in English.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and own critical parts of our web platform, with a clear understanding of how each component fits into the whole user journey.
• Work closely with frontend and product teams to shape the entire stack because you understand the complete system.
• Make architectural decisions that consider performance, scalability, security, and developer experience — all at once.
• Be a cornerstone of technical excellence on the team.

Where You’ll Work

You’ll join a small, cross-functional team of nine. We operate on trust and autonomy: when you own a project, you own it end-to-end — from concept to outcome. You will have the freedom to choose your approach and the responsibility to see it through.

Our team includes six developers (two backend-heavy), a designer, a QA, and a Product Owner. While most of us are based in Hamburg, we span across the USA and the Middle East, building a product that bridges distance through clear communication and shared purpose.
