Wave Light GmbH is a global leader in developing and producing innovative laser systems for use in eye surgery, as well as surgical planning and image guidance for cataract surgeries. As a
** Senior Software Engineer (m/w/d)
** supporting our
** Surgical R&D Team**, you will contribute to the development of innovative software solutions for Wave Light and VARION products at our
** Teltow, Germany
** location. Due to the growing number of development projects, we are expanding our local team and are looking for a software engineer who will work closely with our existing development experts in a collaborative international environment.
** In this role, a typical day will include:
*** Developing, maintaining, and enhancing software applications for medical devices using
** C#
** and
** C++
** in a Windows-based environment
* Collaborating with local and global engineering teams to deliver software solutions supporting Wave Light and VARION products
* Participating in software design, implementation, testing, debugging, and release activities throughout the product lifecycle
* Working with software frameworks such as
** Qt
* * and contributing to software architecture discussions and technical improvements
* Supporting software development activities in a regulated medical device environment while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
** WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
*** Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
* 7 years+ of experience in software development
* Strong programming skills in
** C#
** and
** C++
*** Experience developing software applications in a
** Windows-based environment
*** Experience with
** Qt
* * is highly desirable
* Experience in the
** Medical Device Industry
** or another regulated environment is a strong advantage
* Understanding of software development life cycles, testing methodologies, and software release processes
* Fluent in English;
German language skills are preferred
* Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
