Head Lifeguard – Seasonal (Non-Exempt)

Rate: $20.00/hour

Pay Grade: SEA – Starting salary based on prior experience and education.

Location: Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park, Fairport Harbor, OH 44077

The Head Lifeguard, under the direction of the Outdoor Education Manager, is responsible for supervising lifeguards and overseeing daily operations of the beach area at Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park.

• Assist with lifeguard scheduling and in-service training
• Provide public assistance and administer appropriate lifeguarding techniques and first aid when needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kayak rentals, beach areas, buildings, and rescue equipment
• Support special events and programs
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Lifeguarding Certification required
• CPR for the Professional Rescuer required
• First Aid Certification required
• Boating experience preferred

• Employment contingent upon passing a lifeguarding skills test
• Basic knowledge of Lake County
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with families and children
• Ability to interact with the public, coworkers, and managers with professionalism, tact, and courtesy
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Variable work schedule up to 40 hours per week
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Valid driver's license and insurability under the Agency's liability policy
• Successful completion of a background check
