Position Title: Head Women's Bowling Coach – Intercollegiate Athletics
Job Category: Limited Employment
Employment Type: Terminal (Fixed Term), 12‑month, part‑time (50% FTE)

Key Responsibilities- Adhere to NCAA, WIAC, and University rules and guidelines.
- Plan and guide the development of student‑athletes’ skills for competitive success.
- Ensure safety precautions are followed by all program participants.
- Monitor the program operating budget with assistance from the Athletic Department Business Manager.
- Instruct assistant and student coaches on sport principles, NCAA/WIAC regulations, and University policies.
- Schedule, prepare, and supervise all team travel (transportation, lodging, meals).
- Assist in searching, screening, and hiring assistant coaches.
- Act as liaison with athletic administration, training staff, and facilities to maintain practice and competition areas.
- Monitor academic progress of student‑athletes and promote academic success.
- Define and implement team and individual performance goals.
- Maximize player and team performance by analyzing strengths and weaknesses.
- Assign coaching and recruiting responsibilities to assistant coaches and supervise their work.
- Develop and execute game strategy independently or with assistants.
- Plan and organize in‑season and off‑season programs.
- Provide timely and accurate eligibility and participation information to athletic administrators.
- Develop game scheduling in line with University and regulatory calendars, accounting for academic schedules.
- Reserve athletic facilities for games, practices, and special events.
- Arrange game officials in coordination with the Athletic Department Business Manager.
- Assist with the management and conduct of athletic contests.
- Attend Department and relevant WIAC meetings.
- Attend job‑related clinics and conferences.
- Collaborate with the Sports Information Director to maintain accurate statistics and information.
- Provide results of all home and away games promptly.
- Maintain respect for student‑athletes, support staff, officials, and opponents at all times.
- Develop a competitive program through the recruitment of quality student‑athletes.
- Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate recruiting activities within NCAA, WIAC, and University guidelines.
- Complete recruiting logs monthly.
- Identify, observe, evaluate, and select prospective student‑athletes.
- Communicate educational, career, and sports opportunities to prospects.
- Supervise visits of prospective student‑athletes to and from campus.
- Provide admission and registrar offices with required information on incoming student‑athletes.
- Develop and execute fundraising projects supporting the program.
- Encourage and support camps, clinics, and workshops for sport development.
- Assist in promoting the sport and supporting Athletic Department activities and events.
- Assist the Equipment Manager with selection, ordering, and return of equipment and supplies.
- Provide laundry personnel with updated schedules to ensure uniform availability.
- Educate student‑athletes on responsible equipment and uniform return.
- Support the Certified Athletic Trainer with schedules and information needed for athlete care.
- Support the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator with necessary information.
- Attend job‑related clinics and conferences.
- Maintain active membership in professional organizations.
- Engage in professional development and education to stay current in the field.
- Serve on department and university committees as needed.
- Act as community resource in areas of expertise.
- Assist in outreach activities supporting the athletics program and university.
Annual salary of $25,570 (equivalent to $51,140 full‑time). UW System employees receive a comprehensive benefit package.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree.
- Past collegiate bowling experience or prior coaching experience.
- Ability to impart sport‑specific knowledge effectively.
- Proven ability to identify and recruit student‑athletes.
- Strong communication, time‑management, and organizational skills.
