Position SummaryThis Student Helper position is intended to provide safe, supervised student work and learning experience in Grant PUD’s Power Production Cultural Resources area. The position supports Wanapum cultural‑resource stewardship, traditional‑resource activities, records, events, educational materials, and administrative needs under close supervision. The role is designed for students who are developing workplace skills and who have an interest in supporting the respectful protection, preservation, and perpetuation of Wanapum culture, history, traditions, and cultural resources.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Supports Power Production Cultural Resources / Traditional Resources staff with administrative, records, research, event, educational, and community‑support tasks under close supervision.
- Assists with activities related to Wanapum cultural‑resource stewardship, traditional‑resource programs, cultural preservation, educational materials, and departmental support.
- Helps prepare, organize, scan, file, label, inventory, or distribute documents, photos, meeting materials, supplies, and records as assigned.
- Assists with meetings, gatherings, trainings, tours, presentations, and events, including setup, cleanup, sign‑in materials, note‑taking, supply organization, and follow‑up tasks.
- Uses or learns to use Microsoft Office, email, calendars, Teams, shared drives, scanners, printers, and other District systems to complete assigned work.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive cultural‑resource, traditional‑resource, archaeological, family, community, and District information.
- Demonstrates respect for Wanapum elders, community members, cultural protocols, traditional knowledge, coworkers, visitors, and partner organizations.
- May participate in supervised field, facility, or event‑support activities when age‑appropriate, properly trained, and approved by the supervisor.
- Does not independently conduct archaeological work, cultural‑resource compliance work, Tribal consultation, excavation, monitoring, artifact collection, or handling of culturally sensitive materials.
