Overview

The Royal Group (TRG) currently has a position open for a 2nd Shift Truck Driver in Marion, Ohio. The associate drives company trucks and straight trucks in order to make timely, safe deliveries to our customers. Shift times are 2pm to 10pm Monday – Friday. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Essential Job Functions
  • Inspect load in trailer to ensure it is properly loaded and it is the correct load before leaving.
  • Verify count while truck is being unloaded, as allowed by customers.
  • Transport load by required route to proper destination while observing all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to operation of heavy motor vehicles on public roads and highways.
  • Obtain shipping bill of lading and necessary signatures and return completed paperwork to shipping office.
  • Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to:
    Production Data, Truck Service Data, Safety Data, Quality Data.
  • Complete daily timecard, driver logs, and all other work reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Professionally interact with customers and others at points of delivery and/or pickup.
  • Perform daily services such as – checking the oil level, water level, fuel, air in tires, and clean vehicle as needed.
  • Report any maintenance items to supervision immediately. Be proactive in the maintenance of the truck and trailers.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
  • Ability to work overtime as the job requires.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred that employees have prior work experience in corrugated industry or other 2-4 years’ work experience.
  • Possess and maintain Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Maintain compliance with DOT driver qualifications
  • High degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of a tractor-trailer and in the prevention of damage to materials and equipment.
  • Knowledge of regional roadways
Work Environment

  • Generally, driving 53-foot trailers daily on local and regional roadways.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time and use their hands to handle a 53-foot trailer.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception and peripheral vision.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles.
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts, hot/humid conditions, vibrations and environment is usually loud.
