Shipping Specialist

• Operate a forklift to load and unload materials.
• Complete all required documentation on inbound and outbound documents.
• Manage dock door usage.
• Handle all products according to customer and employer procedures.
• Communicate changes in extraordinary handling procedures to office personnel. Complete warehouse worksheet.
• Comply with all other procedures outlined in the Operations & Procedure Manual.
• Work with inbound operations to determine priority of inbound receipts based on order demand, trailer needs, and detention.
• Seal outbound trailers.
• Assign inbound/outbound workloads for all shifts.
• Perform problem‑solving analysis on supply chain and inventory issues.
• Communicate effectively with transportation, OFR, management, co‑workers, and customers.
• Present verbal and written communications in a clear, concise manner.
• Research and resolve discrepancies (with inventories, orders, inbounds). Verify and reconcile inventory.
• Monitor shipment times to deliver within the specified time frame.
• Manage spreadsheets and reports that are sent to management and clients on a daily/weekly basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with warehouse management systems preferred.
• At least one year of forklift experience.
• At least one year of shipping and receiving experience.
• Computer, data entry and internet experience (Microsoft Office applications, AS400).
• Passing a pre‑employment drug screen and background check is required.

• Ability to hear, read, comprehend, write, and communicate.

• Occasionally required to sit, type, and perform repetitive wrist motion.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Continuously required to stand, walk, bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn, climb or reach on even and uneven surfaces.
• Continuously required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision capabilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus (with or without corrective lenses).
