Full-time. Compensation: $20.85/hour for HMW, $21.64/hour for HT. Union: OCSEA.

• You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
• You will attend training to obtain CDL licensure; if not already a licensed CDL holder.
• You will perform highway maintenance activities, including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
• You will perform snow & ice operations.

Highway Maintenance Worker 1:

• Formal education in arithmetic, including addition & subtraction & reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.

Highway Technician 1:

• Formal education in arithmetic, including addition & subtraction & decimals, percentages & fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary.
• 3 months of training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.

• Position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
• All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one-year probationary period.
• Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
• Final candidate selected will undergo a criminal background check.
• Applicants must submit to urinalysis for drug testing prior to appointment. A positive test will result in no offer.
• Position is subject to federal testing regulations (49 CFR Part 40 and 382) and prohibits use of marijuana, including medical marijuana.
• Selected applicants must register as a driver in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
