Position: TRANSPORTATION OPERATIONS SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: Wright-Patterson AFB

Duties The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to perform technical and administrative analytical work of planning, development and implementation of Airlift Missions, transportation requirements to assure safe, expeditious domestic and international transportation of high level officials and their staffs to meet critical, sensitive diplomatic, military and domestic requirements.
* Manages air transportation for both CONUS and OCONUS cargo and/or passenger movement.
* Responsible for accomplishing all aspects of aircrew and aircraft support for assigned missions.
* Supports assigned missions by reviewing various databases and other sources of weather, itinerary, equipment and passenger information.
* Develops quarterly flying schedule from annual flying requirements. Builds and reviews monthly flying schedules and ensures that all mission taskings from HQ AFRC and HQ AMC are integrated into the schedule. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join
* Incumbent must obtain and retain a secret security clearance

* AFSC: 1C0X2 Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, for series 2150. Specialized

Experience:

GS 09:
One year of specialized experience which includes directing, operating, and planning air transportation services and systems; applying business policies, practices, and procedures in relation to aircraft, cargo and passenger operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR

Education:

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; education must have major field of study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position.

Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

NOTE:

Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE,

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of regulations, policies, procedures, instructions, and guidelines regarding air transportation operations.
2. Knowledge of flight planning concepts, techniques and methods.
3. Knowledge of a range of national and international flight planning policies, principles, practices, and regulations in order to plan safe and expeditious movements of aircraft in accomplishing missions.
