As a substitute/on‑call, operates and maintains a bus transporting passengers along designated routes as a substantially full‑time work assignment and performs other related duties as assigned.
Duties- Drive a bus to transport passengers over specified routes according to time schedules.
- Collect tickets or cash fares.
- Comply with local traffic regulations.
- Clean the bus and maintain it supplied with fuel, oil, water, and air.
- Maintain daily records of all trips.
- Perform daily checks of the bus (tires, brakes, horn, wipers, lights, turn signals).
- Report all mechanical problems that may require repair work.
- Make minor and emergency repairs to the bus as required.
- A combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from high school.
- Two (2) years of work experience in the operation and maintenance of passenger‑carrying motor vehicles.
- Preferred combination of education and experience as above.
Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements as applicable, a valid State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Medical Examiner Certificate, and any other appropriate licenses or certificates.
Work Shift / Schedule7 days/week operation; shift work.
