Plating Technology, Inc., a stable, family-owned manufacturing company in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Regional CDL-A Truck Driver.
This position offers dedicated Midwest routes, no-touch freight, an assigned late-model Freightliner sleeper tractor, and a predictable three-week rotating schedule. Our drivers transport customer freight throughout suburban Chicago, Central Indiana, and Detroit.
ScheduleThe position follows a three-week rotation:
Week 1: Approximately 60 hours, Sunday through Thursday, with three overnight stays serving the Chicagoland area
Week 2: Approximately 40 hours, Monday through Thursday, with two overnight stays serving the Chicagoland area
Week 3: Approximately 40 hours, Monday through Friday, serving Indiana and Detroit with the driver home each evening
Schedules may occasionally change due to customer needs, holidays, weather, traffic, or other operating conditions.
What You’ll DoSafely operate a Class A commercial vehicle in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations
Transport customer freight along scheduled, dedicated routes
Perform required pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
Confirm that freight is properly loaded and secured
Review bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other shipping documentation
Maintain accurate ELD records and comply with Hours of Service requirements
Monitor vehicle condition and promptly report maintenance concerns
Coordinate approved maintenance for assigned equipment
Maintain a clean and professional truck
Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, management, and service providers
Promptly report accidents, delays, delivery concerns, and equipment problems
Routes and EquipmentDedicated routes serving suburban Chicago, Central Indiana, and Detroit
Assigned 2024 or newer Freightliner sleeper tractor
Automatic transmission
No routine slip seating
Electronic Logging Device
Company fuel card and approved business-expense card
Company-paid tolls
Minimum QualificationsValid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate
Driving record acceptable under company and insurance requirements
Ability to meet DOT and FMCSA driver qualification requirements
Ability to satisfy DOT drug and alcohol testing and Clearinghouse requirements
Dependable, punctual, and safety-focused
Professional attitude and effective communication skills
Ability to accurately maintain driving and delivery records
Preferred QualificationsAt least one year of CDL-A commercial driving experience
Regional or dedicated-route driving experience
Experience operating sleeper tractors
Familiarity with ELD systems and DOT documentation

Physical RequirementsApplicants must be able to meet applicable DOT physical requirements; sit and operate a commercial vehicle for extended periods; enter and exit the tractor cab; climb, bend, reach, squat, and kneel while inspecting equipment; lift up to 50 pounds as needed; and work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
