Schedule

  • 40 hours per week.
  • Typically either an 8 hour shift and/or 10 hour shifts between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 or as assigned.

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Job Summary

The Specialist, Warehouse Operations will ensure the efficient operation of the logistics center by overseeing daily activities such receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. of products/materials. The Warehouse Specialist will be expected to follow existing safety and quality control procedures and is responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products to a variety of internal and external customers.

Responsible for executing daily order processing, inventory management, and maintaining quality standards for the NPHS (Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions) Logistics Center. Responsible for project execution as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Leads group training with peers as needed, this includes standard training videos and assessments for safety, quality control and warehouse equipment. Based on the training needs of the facility identified by site leadership, cross‑trains staff to ensure all employees possess the skills to work in each department/work area of the facility.
  • Order Fulfillment & Processing:
    Prepare and complete orders for shipping according to schedule (pick, pack, and ship).
  • Inventory Management:
    Performing routine inventory controls, cycle counts, and following defined quality standards. Investigate discrepancies and follow existing procedures to resolve discrepancies.
  • Receiving & Storage:
    Receive and process warehouse stocked products (unload, inspect, label, and store correctly in designated areas). Record inspection results appropriately.
  • Quality & Safety Compliance:
    Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment. Strictly follow company procedures, rules, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards). Participates in facility EH&S teams or committees to understand all safety procedures and ensures updates to policies and procedures in the training content (translations may be needed).
  • Participates in focused, on‑the‑job training for specific departments or teams to improve daily functioning, implement operational changes, and other initiatives as identified by site leadership.
  • Regularly communicates with Supervisors and Managers to understand training needs and to discuss retraining and cross‑training opportunities.
  • Coordinates with EH&S and other relevant internal stakeholders to understand content and documentation for training and onboarding.
  • Equipment Operation:
    Safely operate and inspect warehouse equipment and report any maintenance needs to management. Specialists are expected to be licensed forklift operators (training provided by Cardinal Health).
  • Answers phone calls/emails for the facility and following defined processes to resolve any action items. Escalate to management as needed.
Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Past experience onboarding new trainees preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) strongly preferred
